Interface language and theme

Four interface languages, switched with the globe icon in the top bar. The choice lives in the browser, not on the account — and that has consequences worth knowing in advance.

The Heltio app speaks four languages: Polish (the default), English, Ukrainian and Russian. The switcher sits in the top bar and works from any page of the app — you do not have to go into Settings for it.

The colour theme is a separate and much shorter matter: in the browser Heltio renders in light mode only.

Open Settings

How to do it

01

Click the globe icon in the top bar

The button is labelled Change language and shows the flag of the current language. The list unfolds four entries: Polski, English, Українська, Русский.

02

Pick a language

The change takes effect at once — there is no save button. The page address does not change: Heltio has no /pl/ or /en/ segments in its addresses, so typing one in by hand ends on a "not found" page.

03

Know where that choice is stored

The interface language is remembered in that one browser, for a year. A new browser, a new computer or a private window starts in Polish — Heltio does not guess the language from your system or browser settings. If you work in English on two computers, the language has to be picked once on each.

When you change it we also record your choice on the account, but that serves a different purpose: it is the language you receive notifications and messages from Heltio in. The app itself reads the browser setting only.

The theme — where it stands today

The browser app has no light/dark switch and no page reacts to a dark system theme. Looking for such a setting in Settings is a waste of time — it is not there.

The mobile app has an Appearance entry with a Light / Dark / System choice, but it only appears once Heltio enables the dark theme for your clinic. It is off by default, so most clinics will never see that entry at all.

There are no date-format, decimal-separator or font-size settings either. Date and time formats follow the chosen language and the clinic time zone set in Clinic details.

When something does not work

Info

The language change is not visible straight away

What this means: The page did not manage to refresh its content after the choice was made from the list.

What to do: Refresh the page. The choice is already saved, so the new language shows up after a refresh.
Info

On a new computer the app is in Polish again

What this means: The language choice does not travel with the account — it lives in the browser where it was made.

What to do: Pick the language once on each device. One click is enough and the setting holds for a year.
Info

Clearing browser data reverted the language

What this means: Deleting site data deletes the remembered language with it.

What to do: Pick the language again with the globe icon.
Warning

An address with an /en/ prefix returns a “not found” page

What this means: Heltio does not put the language into the address — every path exists in one form only.

What to do: Remove the prefix from the address and switch the language with the globe icon.

Who has access

Any signed-in person changes the language, for themselves. There is no setting that forces one language on the whole team, and no role that blocks the choice.
