One Heltio account can belong to several clinics — to the clinic that employs you and to your own practice, for instance. Active clinic is the switcher right at the top of the sidebar: it shows the initials and the name of the clinic whose data you are working in.
The choice is a boundary, not a filter. A patient from clinic A is not hidden in clinic B — they simply do not exist there. The same person being treated in two places has two separate records, two visit histories and two sets of accounts.
How to do it
Click the switcher at the top of the sidebar
The tile with the initials and the name. It unfolds a list of every clinic you belong to. If none is selected, the switcher reads Select clinic.
Pick a clinic from the list
Switching takes effect immediately: the whole app reloads its data for the new clinic — calendar, patient list, billing, settings. The page address does not change, so it is easy to miss; watch the name in the switcher.
Check which role you hold here
The role is a property of the membership, not of the account. You can be an administrator in one clinic and only a practitioner in another — and the sidebar will differ in each. You can read your current role off the Members card on the Settings page.
When something does not work
No clinic selected
What this means: The account does not belong to any clinic yet, or the list has not finished loading.
Your account is not a member of any clinic. Contact your administrator to be added to a clinic.
What this means: The invitation has not been accepted yet, or the membership has been removed.
Select a clinic to view settings.
What this means: The page needs an active clinic and none is selected.
Who has access
Practitioner Clinic Admin ReceptionistThe switcher is seen by anyone who belongs to at least one clinic. The list shows only clinics where your membership is active — you cannot use it to enter a clinic you were not invited to.
Entries in the audit log are recorded in the clinic that was active at the moment of the action. If you are looking for your entry and cannot see it, check first that you are looking at the right clinic.

Working at several clinics
One account can belong to several clinics. The switcher at the top of the sidebar decides whose data you see — and nothing mixes between clinics.
