Google Calendar sync

Linking a practitioner's private Google Calendar with the Heltio calendar. The feature is built but not yet available — the card in settings shows Coming soon.

Google Calendar is meant to link a practitioner's private calendar with the practice calendar: appointments from Heltio would appear in Google, and events from Google would show up in Heltio as time blocks.

This feature is not available yet. The Google Calendar card in the integration settings exists, but instead of a Connect Google Calendar button it shows a Coming soon label. The reason is on Google's side: the Heltio application is waiting for its consent screen to be verified, and without that the connection would be blocked at the first sign-in attempt.

What it will do once it starts

The Google Calendar card provides for four settings:

  • Sync appointments — appointments from Heltio appear in Google Calendar.
  • Sync time blocks — blocks created in Heltio go there too.
  • Import external events — events from Google come back into Heltio as blocks labeled Imported from Google Calendar.
  • Exclude all-day events — birthdays and holidays from Google do not swallow a whole working day in Heltio.

On top of that Sync now to force a run, a Last synced: … line or Never synced, and Disconnect with the warning This will stop syncing your appointments with Google Calendar. You can reconnect at any time.

The link is personal: it concerns one person and their own calendar, not the whole practice. Every practitioner connects their own.

When something goes wrong

Info

Coming soon

What this means: The integration is disabled for all practices — it is waiting for verification on Google's side.

What to do: There is nothing to fix. Until then, block time by hand in the calendar.
Warning

Never synced

What this means: The link exists, but no run has taken place yet.

What to do: Click **Sync now**. If the message stays, disconnect and connect again.

Who has access

Practitioner Clinic Admin

Only the owner and the practice administrator can connect, disconnect, change the settings and force a run — the link stores access keys to a private Google account, so access is deliberately narrow. Assistants and reception do not operate this card. Every change leaves an entry in the audit log.
