One Heltio account covers everything: the dashboard in a browser, the mobile app and the patient portal. The account belongs to a person, not to a clinic — which is why the same person can work at several clinics without a second login.
Sign-in is handled by Clerk, Heltio's authentication provider. The screen looks the same in a browser and on a phone.
How to do it
Sign in
The Sign in to continue screen takes an email and password, or a sign-in through Google and Apple. No account yet? Under the form is Don't have an account? and a Sign up link.
After signing in you land on the Dashboard. A new account after registration lands first on the Welcome to Heltio screen, which routes you onward — to a clinic application, to pending invitations, or to the demo.
Confirm the code from your inbox
On a first sign-in and on a sign-in from a new device, Heltio asks you to confirm the address. The screen is Verify your email, the field is the Verification code, and if the message did not arrive there is a resend link.
Recover your password
On the sign-in screen click Forgot password?. You get a password-reset screen with a Reset your password button; the confirmation code arrives at the account address. Under the button there is also Or, sign in with another method — from there you go in through Google or Apple, if such a connection was ever set up.
Set a PIN lock on a shared computer
Under Settings you will find the PIN Lock — Secure the app with a PIN code for shared devices. Click Set up PIN and enter a four- to six-digit code, then repeat it in Confirm PIN.
A separate Auto-lock timeout setting closes the screen after a set period of inactivity. The screen can also be locked by hand: Press Cmd+L (Mac) or Ctrl+L to lock manually. Unlocking is Enter PIN.
Sign out
Settings → Account shows Signed in as with your address and a Sign out button. The same button is on the PIN lock screen, for when someone else takes over the computer.
When something doesn't work
Sign in could not be completed. Please try again.
What this means: The email address or password does not match the account.
Something went wrong. Please try again.
What this means: Sign-in did not complete because of a dropped connection or a momentary failure on the authentication provider's side.
Incorrect PIN
What this means: The code entered does not match the one set on this device.
PINs do not match
What this means: The code in “Confirm PIN” differs from the one in “New PIN”.
Set by your clinic admin.
What this means: The auto-lock timeout is imposed clinic-wide, so the field is read-only.
Who has access
You create the account yourself. Permissions do not live in the account but in membership of a particular clinic — the same person may be an Admin at one clinic and a Practitioner at another. Details: Roles and permissions.
The password, email address and additional sign-in methods are changed in the authentication provider's account panel — you open it by clicking your avatar on the Welcome to Heltio screen.
