A new therapy plan can be built three ways: From template, From scratch and With AI. The third tab asks for a diagnosis description and returns one finished plan outline — phases, their duration, progression criteria and measurable goals — which you review and correct before saving.
It is a suggestion, not a clinical recommendation. The plan comes into existence only when you click Create plan.
How to do it
Open New treatment plan and pick With AI
The wizard runs through four steps: Patient & diagnosis, Generating suggestion, Review suggestion, Review & create.
Describe the diagnosis
Fill in the Diagnosis description — the field is mandatory, and without it you get "Diagnosis description is required". The placeholder shows the level of detail expected: "e.g. Left knee ACL tear, 4 weeks post-injury". Optionally add an ICD-10 diagnosis code and pick the Patient.
Click Generate suggestions
The cost is 8 credits and sits on the button. The wizard narrates the work with Analyzing diagnosis…, Consulting evidence base…, Drafting phase structure…, Mapping outcome goals…, Finalizing suggestion… — with "This usually takes 5–15 seconds" underneath.
Review the suggestion
Above the result sits the AI suggestion — review before saving banner, reminding you to check every phase, criterion and goal. Below it are the technical details of the generation — the time, the model and the number of passages consulted.
If AI proposed a goal for which the clinic has no matching measure, the wizard says plainly how many goals were omitted and why (measure not found).
At this point you see: (1) the four-step bar, (2) the current step — Review suggestion, (3) the suggestion itself with the warning banner above it, (4) the move to the last step, where the plan is finally created.
Fill in the plan header and create it
On the last step you fill in the Plan title (mandatory), Overall goals, Start date and Estimated end date, then click Create plan. The confirmation reads "Plan created successfully."
When something doesn't work
AI treatment plan suggestions are disabled for this clinic.
What this means: The clinic does not have this AI feature switched on.
AI disabled on this deployment
What this means: AI suggestions are inactive across all of Heltio, not just in your clinic.
Not enough AI credits to generate a treatment plan.
What this means: The clinic balance is below 8 credits.
Failed to generate suggestion
What this means: The call did not complete on the provider's side.
Diagnosis description is required
What this means: The first step of the wizard was submitted with an empty description.
Failed to create plan.
What this means: Saving the last step did not go through.
Who has access
PractitionerThe wizard opens for anyone with the right to create treatment plans. Generating a suggestion leaves an entry in the audit log linked to the patient it was asked about — even if no plan was ever created.
