How to add an exercise to the catalogue
The clinic's exercise catalogue starts empty. What to enter so the exercise can be found and suggests its dosage straight away in a patient's programme.
The Exercise Catalog is one clinic's collection of exercises — with a description, instructions, photographs, video and a default prescription. It is what you build patient programmes from and what you draw on when adding exercises to treatment plan phases.
How to do it
Open the catalogue and check the exercise is not already there
In the sidebar choose Exercises. The Search exercises... field narrows the list by name; beside it are three filters: Body Region, Muscle Group and Equipment.
An exercise name has to be unique within the clinic, so checking before you add saves a refusal at save time.
Fill in the form
Create Exercise opens a form with the fields: Exercise Name, Description, Muscle Groups, Body Region, Equipment, Default Video, Exercise Photos and Instructions.
Write the name plainly and descriptively — the patient sees exactly that text in their programme. The Description and Instructions are also read by the patient, without you beside them, so write them for the patient, not for a colleague.
Add photographs and a video
You can add up to three photographs, each up to 5 MB. The video goes in as a link, not a file — the Default Video field takes an address, not a recording from your disk.
If you are filming it yourself: a phone is enough, and portrait works better than landscape, because the patient watches on a phone. Fifteen to forty-five seconds and two or three repetitions with correct technique are usually enough.
Set the default prescription
The Default prescription section has three tiers: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. For each you give Sets, Reps, Hold, Duration and Rest (s).
This is a starting set — it is suggested when you add the exercise to a programme, but in the programme you can still change it for the individual patient.
Ask the AI to fill in the gaps if you are short of a description
Autofill with AI proposes a description, instructions and tags from the exercise name alone. It fills in empty fields only — it will not overwrite what you have already written. A warning appears above the form saying this is a draft to review.
Each call costs AI credits; the cost and the current balance are shown next to the button.
Check the exercise can actually be found
After saving, type the name into Search exercises... and check it comes back. Then narrow the list with the Body Region filter and check it is still there — if it is not, no region was selected.
The exercise card shows how many times it has been prescribed. After a few weeks that is the simplest signal of which entries are really working and which you added just in case.
When something does not work
The filter does not find an exercise by that name
What this means: The exercise has no body region, muscle group or equipment selected — the filters have nothing to catch hold of.
The video will not upload
What this means: The **Default Video** field takes a link, not a video file.
Deleting an exercise is discouraged while it is in use
What this means: At deletion Heltio tells you how many active programmes the exercise is used in.
Who has access
Practitioner Clinic AdminThe catalogue belongs to the clinic, not to one person — there is no "only me" setting. Every exercise added is visible to the whole team.
